The Magic of Friendship
Relationships make the world go round, and everyone is looking for someone who will love and understand them. This holds just as true for friendships as it does for romantic connections. Some friendships start in the school playground and last a lifetime, while others fade after a holiday, a job change, or a promotion.
We spend so much time talking about romantic soulmates, but honestly the most profound spiritual mirrors in our lives are usually our friends. Platonic love holds a sacred frequency. When you connect with a true soul friend there's no performance, and no romantic script in the raw, grounded truth of a friendship.
That's why the connection can sometimes feel just outright psychic - you know that uncanny energetic thread that causes you to reach for your phone the moment they text, finishing sentences they haven't said yet, or feeling a heavy shift in your gut before they tell you they're struggling. It's like an attunement across the miles, when two nervous systems spend enough time in sync, empathy evolves from an emotional response into an intuitive reflex reaction.

When a friendship ends...
Because these bonds weave directy into our mind, body and spirit , a friendship can shatter you in ways you never saw coming. Society gives us scripts, sad playlists, and permission slips for romantic heartbreak. But when a soul tie dissolves, you're often left grieving in complete silence. If you're moving through the ache of a friendship ending, here is how to tend to your spirit and call your energy back.
Honour the grief
The body keeps the score of lost connection. When a friend departs, your nervous system misses it's companion. Let yourself cry, breath deeply, move the stuck enegry through gentle movement, and validate the loss as a real sacred heartbreak.
Release the urge to rewrite history
Just because a bond didn't last forever doesn't mean it was a failure. People often enter our lives to activate a specific lesson, heal an old wound, or expand our consciousness for a season. Honour the medicine they brought, even if the chapter is closed.
Clear the energetic cords
When you notice yourself having imaginary conversations with them or checking their digital footprint, gently pause. Visualise pulling your stray energy back into your heart space. Send them peace, and redirect that love back toward your self.
Create your own closure ritual
You don't need a messy final confrontation to find peace. Write a letter saying everything left unsaid, burn or bury it safely, and ground yourself in the present moment.
Losing a friend leaves a quiet, awkward ache, but moving forward starts with responding to the silence by turning inwards allowing you to reconnect with your own values, hobbies and peace, rather than obsessing over what went wrong.
Grounding in the present moment
Grounding is the practice of pulling your awareness out of past memories, mental spirals, or lingering psychic cords and dropping your energy back into your physical body.
1. Plant your roots
Sit with both feet flat on the floor or stand barefoot directly on the earth.
Drop your shoulders away from your ears, unclench your jaw and bring all of your awareness to the soles of your feet.
2. Shift your nervous system
Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of 4 filling your belly, hold for a count of 4, then exhale gently through your mouth for a count of 6 Repeat 3 to 5 times or until you feel that there was a shift.
3. Anchor you senses
The 5-4-3-2-1 Check In
Then gently look around the area and name 5 things you can see, 4 things you can physically feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste e.g. a mint or water.
4. Call your energy home
Place one hand over your heart and one over your belly. Silently or aloud speak the anchor phrase :
"I call all parts of my energy, awareness, & power back to this body, in this room, at this exact moment"
5.The Spiritual close
Take one final deep breath, feeling your spirit settle into the present container of your body.
Soul connections aren't measured by how long they endure, but by how deeply they awaken you. Honour the shared path, release the attachmnet, and trust that your spirit has simply made space for your next evolution.
